FSCR is taking kids to the river! FSCR was awarded an ‘Explore the Coast’ grant from the California State Coastal Conservancy, enabling more than 2,000 students to see and learn about the river.
We schedule school field trips and docents to inspire students through bird watching, learning about native plants, and enjoying the area’s beauty.
Trips are held at the Santa Clara River Estuary and the Ventura treatment ponds in Ventura, CA. FSCR will continue to lead about 23 trips per year over the three year grant. The grant is expected to complete after Spring 2022.
