FSCR Awarded $15,000 Grant
from the Ventura County Community Foundation
Friends of the Santa Clara River has been awarded a grant of $15,000 by the Ventura County Community Foundation's Santa Clara River Parkway Fund.
The grant will be used to assist the development of a Management Plan for the Hedrick Ranch Nature Area and to produce a color brochure covering the Santa Clara River. The 230-acre Hedrick Ranch Nature Area was purchased in 2001 by the California State Coastal Conservancy and is now owned and managed by Friends of the Santa Clara River. URS Corporation of Oakland is developing a Management Plan for the property covering numerous work elements, including revegetation, habitat enhancement, alien plant removal, stream bank stabilization, volunteer programs, educational facilities, and long-term monitoring.
